Two Potential Warrior Changes

February 11, 2011

These aren’t complaints or even things I expect to be added to the game, just a couple tweaks that would bring Warriors closer to what DKs and Paladins are able to do in terms of magical damage reduction and self healing. Druids still play the role of sponging damage due to their extremely large health pools, but could probably use another cool down as well.

1. Impending Victory. Currently the 20% or less HP requirement on your target creates too small of a window to make this talent useful for 2 points. If this talent could proc regardless of boss HP then it would become extremely viable and more desirable when tanking. Imposing restrictions such as allowing it to only proc once every 30 or 60 seconds, or disabling Victory Rush from procing off killing blows would also help to balance out the talent if it was too powerful without the execute range requirement.

2. A Glyph of Shield Deflect. The current Spell Reflect glyph reduces the spell’s cool down by 1 second. A very mediocre glyph indeed. I propose a new glyph that when active, it would reduce magical damage by a % when Spell Reflect is used instead of the spell’s usual effect. This glyph would be very similar to a Paladin’s Glyph of Divine Protection. I would even settle for the magical damage reduction equal to your parry and dodge chance, meaning it would scale with gear levels. This would give Spell Reflect much more raid utility as it has none right now.
